Limited production
We feel responsible for everything we put out into the world. To make sure we keep our impact as low as possible we only make 25 bags a week.
Materials
Our hardwearing, weatherproof, GOTS certified organic dry-waxed cotton uses 88% less water and 62% less energy than conventional cotton. It also uses zero toxic chemicals in its production.
This bag is almost plastic-free (we use a recycled polyester thread)
Offsetting
3 trees planted + 10kg CO2e offset
BearReMade
Our bags are made to last a lifetime, but we get that not everyone wants to keep something that long.
To avoid your bag ending up in the back of the closet, or worse, the bin, we will take your bag back in exchange for BearMade credit (10% of the bags original value).
We will then recycle the parts from that bag and make it into something new.

faq's
What can I fit in this bag?
This is a hard question to answer as so many things are different shapes and sizes. However, we typically would take a notebook, an Ipad, wallet/purse, a water bottle and a lightweight jumper.
For outdoor use we would typically take a a water bottle, a small first aid kit, a lightweight jumper and some snacks.
Are your bags waterproof?
Our bags are not totally waterproof, very few are. But they are pretty damn close. We spent an hour throwing them around in a waterfall and water only got in when we forgot to roll the top down....
Can I customise this bag?
Sometimes we can, sometimes we can't. It depends on the product. If you want to know more, send us an email and let us know what product you would like to personalise, along with what sort of personalisation you would like.
Do you really only make 25 bags a week?
We sure do! 25 bags is our maximum capacity and we have no interest in making more than that. It means we can take great care over every detail in all stages of production.
Think 25 bags sounds like a lot? It's not. Rolls Royce actually make over 60 cars per week.
made by Amy
We insist on working with great people who share our values, and our lead bag maker Amy is one of a kind.
With 20+ years of experience, she makes all our bags, with the help of a small team, from her studio in the Suffolk countryside.
material highlights
Our bags are made from GOTS certified organic dry-waxed cotton canvas from British Millerain in Lancashire. They have been dyeing and proofing cotton for over 100 years and this material is one of their latest creations. It has a totally dry finish (dry-waxed doesn't always mean totally), is waterproof, PFC free, and is machine washable! However, we don't recommend you wash it often.
notes from the designer
Our bag maker Amy plays a big role in our design process. Normally we give her a pretty clear idea of what we want, usually in the form of a rough prototype made in the office. However, this bag was different. This bag was designed by Amy. All we said was, "we want something about x big and we want it to be simple". She made a sample, we made some tweaks, a month and a few versions later, the Mini was born.
our impact
We feel personally responsible for the things we put out into the world and believe business should be a force for good.
to keep our impact low we:
→ Only make 25 bags a week
→ Will repair your bag for life
→ Will recycle your bag at the end of its life
→ Carbon offset all that we make and do. We plant trees locally (we actually plant
them) and in places where they will have a big impact with the help of Ecologi.
the wildish club

Excellent customer service pleasant people to deal with.Quality of bag top draw
Only criticism I have is the straps are too short for me and when wearing thick winter clothes I do not think i will be able to weat it on my back.Good luck.
What a surprise to find an online purchase so easy and with the most polite and lovely messages from the makers.
We love our BearMade backpacks so much our little family all have one. Even our 1 year old daughter has her own custom version for her days at nursery. They're incredibly well made, long lasting, stylish and fit everything you could need for a day out with a baby (no small task!) whilst not being bulky and heavy. It continues to be my go to bag for every activity. Couldn't recommend highly enough! Thank you to Oscar and the team for making these products available and for the incredible customer service
I got the mini after purchasing a life-changing Gouthwaite 18-23 several months ago, which I’ve since used for work every day, travelling, picking up my veg box, countryside walks, and a million other big and small adventures. But whenever I didn’t need to carry lots of stuff, I didn’t have anything that worked. The mini has filled that gap. It has more capacity than I expected, is comfortable to wear, and my partner perpetually tries to “borrow” it. Super recommended product and excellent customer service too.
Lovely little backpack, you can tell that its great quality and that it’s been with care.
